Clocks turned back

It is always sobering the weekend we turn our clocks as the sun sets by 3:30 in the afternoon bringing the reality of darkness and invitation for winter to begin. The need for good routines, activities to look forward to, and reminders of bed time are part of my reality. Yet there is much to celebrate and look forward to which brings a natural energy and excitement! Celebrate everything that is stirred! The two groups (Monday and Friday nights) continue to demonstrate individual growth and a hunger for more. We also have had visitors who seem to be longing for a community that allows exploration of belief. Giving thanks for the deepening of friendships and the opportunity that each person has given me to be part of their lives. Please continue to pray that these groups would continue to take steps forward strengthening a DNA that will impact not only those that attend, but our community.

Building the Team that makes the work possible. As you are aware, this work is only made possible by the sacrifice and generosity of many. It has been an incredible journey to have laboured the past 15 years in kingdom work, the last 10 years in Sweden. There continues to be much to celebrate and much to keep praying for. I will get to make a visit back to the states next February and hope to see as many of you as I can. If you are near any of the following locations, I would love to get to see you in person. Otherwise, it could work to set up a video call while I am in a more convenient time zone!

Financial Update. Celebrate with me the gifts already given towards the end-of-the-year goal. Praise the Lord for two more monthly supporters investing in this work and another $500 in one-time gifts. Here is a list detailing ways you can be praying for the work over the next two months:

  • November 11th: Deep Dive. A gathering to dig deeper into a doctrine of belief, grow in biblical understanding and practical application. This meeting’s topic is the priesthood of believers.
  • November 18th & 25th: Thanksgiving Day Outreaches. The opportunity to share a holiday with many deepening friendships and sharing life. Pray for each person to experience the love and peace Christ offers.
  • December 1st: Coffee table outreach celebrating the first of advent. Handing out gingerbread cookies, coffee and links to the Jesus film in many languages.
  • December 6th: Advent theme dessert night with my building association. There are about 130 apartments that I get to invite and attempt to get to know my immediate neighbors better.
  • December 17th: I will get to do a training on storytelling to a few groups in the south of Stockholm.
  • Coaching: One of my goals this year has been to improve as a coach. I get to meet with about 4 to 5 different ladies each month coming alongside them to see them encouraged, equipped and empowered to continue the work in their locations. Please pray for these opportunities to speak life and assist well in seeing the objectives completed.
  • Studies: Pray for more volunteers that would be willing to participate in an interview for the research I am conducting on Persians integrating into the Swedish Christian community.
