Happy March friends. I am two months into the sabbatical season and wanted to give you a glimpse of what God is up to.
First in Sweden. There is so much to celebrate. The local community continues to demonstrate a commitment to one another and the vision. If you have been praying for G and R, please continue. G, let’s start calling him George. He not only joined the group chat, but he also is taking initiative in keep the group going. He has not yet made his decision about Jesus, but I believe he is close. The reality is, that when he makes that decision, he will have a death target on his back. He is a key insider to one of the people group’s that are more hostile to the gospel. Please pray for him to continue to seek truth and have courage to walk it out. R, let’s call him Roger. Maybe you remember a team I had last fall from Sweden Teen Challenge. One of the guys on the team, Hampus, is considering moving to Tensta at the end of his service. Hampus has continued to meet with Roger getting in the Word and building friendship. In some ways, it can feel that maybe God has raised up a team of nationals to really own the vision in this area. Please pray for them to grow – grow in their walks with Jesus and grow in numbers. That a spark would truly be ignited that would impact the entire area. Of course, we are connected to many people that have family in Iran. Please pray for them, not everyone has had contact with family and there are so many unknowns. Please pray that they would meet God as their protector, their peace, and their foundation as their external realities are in chaos.

Sabbatical. To cling to verses such as, seek first the kingdom of God, be still and know that I am God, those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, have taken on a more literal and deeper meaning these weeks. As a workaholic (hopefully a recovering one), it has been an interesting experience to be stripped of all roles and responsibilities. Yet, seeing others step up and grow and contribute to the work, it is exciting that admiring from the sideline, praying and when opened getting to coach is a great gift. I have reflected a bit on how Paul expresses his heart for those he leaves. I understand a bit more in how a piece of my heart lies in Sweden with the people and the work that motivates another level of intercession that I didn’t fully understand before.
For every pioneering project we, yes we as you have been with me in this work, have engaged, we can celebrate disciples maturing and the gospel going out to the nations. For this I rejoice.
I have a few more weeks in the US before heading back over. I am still seeking the Lord for clarity on whether he would like reboot Stockholm for another season – it is strategic, and there is so much happening. Does He want home base to be another place in Sweden (Uppsala, Örebro, or Malmö)? Is there another team along the refugee highway where it would make sense to work with (Spain, Greece, ?). Are there other things brewing stateside where a both/and work might be needed for a season? Everything is still on the table and awaiting clarity. I appreciate your prayers to listen well.
Financial update. Another $3100 has come in (PRAISE!!!), but there is still a need of $4500 to cover costs this year. If you are able to help contribute to this need, click here. If you have questions about this ministry, feel free to reach out and we can set up a call to talk more!
Enjoy Jesus!
I would love to hear what you are thinking! Feel free to share!
