Truly Thankful

Reflecting on some of the meaning of Thanksgiving and how it came about, it was wonderful to celebrate Thanksgiving in a new country with new friends. I am extremely grateful for how the past 16 months have allowed for many new beginnings…so much so I needed to have two Thanksgivings!

Last Wednesday, our group welcomed the english conversation group (4 different families – 3 from the Middle East and 1 from Sweden) to share in a feast. Our hope in serving the community with meeting needs such as learning english will provide a bridge of friendship to share more of Christ. We may have more people at home group this week! Thursday night our Tuesday group gathered to celebrate and give thanks to God for our many blessings. It was a gift to me to give thanks to these communities that have come to mean so much to me!

I am also thankful for how God continues to work in and through our students. Hilda and Heather, both student leaders for LUKaS (LTU’s christian student group) were led to promote a time of prayer for the university and LUKaS’ needs. We had a 24 hour prayer time from Friday night through Saturday where every hour was filled with someone crying out to God for LTU. We are excited to see how God will answer these prayers as well as create a deeper hunger to pray and intercede for our lands. Feel free to check out the prayer tool used in case you would like to adapt it to where the Lord has you!

God also continues to provide the needs necessary to allow this ministry to take place. If you are interested in helping meet the needs of the ministry account I am responsible for, please click here to go to our secure online giving site!

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and THANK YOU for continuing to journey with me!
