We are about to enter the final week of our summer missions project called EUROLINC (Europe Laborers Impacting the Nations for Christ). It has been a whirlwind these past two weeks, spending about 10 to 12 hours a week training the next generation of disciple-makers as well as 15 to 20 hours out engaging people with one question. Those that were willing to engage the question, about 60% of them were willing to hear what the Bible has to say. That means a few hundred people have gotten the chance to hear about the truth of Jesus, his life, death and resurrection. It always encourages my heart to be able to have conversations that go below the surface and have honest discussions about belief and worldview. I have been particularly blessed by the local churches we came to serve alongside helping them build bridges into their neighborhoods. Below are some pictures highlighting a few special moments for me.
We started at each location with a training after a church service gaining confidence in making disciples. After being out for a couple of hours, we would meet up and share stories about we learned and heard. I had the opportunity to grab a coffee with a new Romanian friend who wanted to talk more and introduced her to someone who lives locally .It is a gift to get to labor with others that have left their home countries to serve in other places.Of course a highlight is getting to hang out with these ladies seeing them grow. Three Americans, two Romanians, and one Afghani refugee living in Germany. We end each week with a grill feast hosted by the local church. Thankful for their kindness and generosity.In Brasov, Romania, we set up a coffee table each night at the park overlooking the city. We had great conversations where there was a handful of people that wanted to meet again and hear more. It has been a great gift in seeing L grow in her faith and think about how life will unfold for her after needing to flee her home country at 15. This is her first missions project and she continues to take risks to learn and be challenged. These three ladies are workers in Cologne, Germany who I get regularly calls with. I am thankful for how they care for me like little sisters and the opportunities I have to help them develop their gifts and passion.
