There is still a desire to see a middle school youth group form so that kids have an option for a healthy community and learn about Jesus.The Swedish Christmas fika means at least 7 different types of cookies.Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden and is majority minority people groups. Continuing to build bridges with local workers and potential more trips this coming year. Christmas Day included a family that had to flee their home land due to persecution because they are Christians, another where it is illegal to leave Islam and a man from Switzerland. We had great conversation and some fun activities. A christmas party with the Monday night group was full of competitions, breakfast for dinner, and a discussion of what celebrating knowing Jesus means to you. The start of the year included our annual Iron on Iron Retreat. For over 5 years, we have monthly meetings learning from one another, strengthening one another, and coaching one another. Engaging Refugee ministry in Europe is full of hurdles, questions, and lots of failing forward. Yet the gospel continues to go forward. The time together was valuable in getting to process, sort through areas where we feel stuck and get honest feedback. Thankful for this crew to run with.
Traveling to the USA
I am looking forward to getting to see so many of you face to face, and others getting to video chat in the same time zone! Please let me know if you would like to make plans while I am in your area. I will be in New Jersey from January 25th through 31st, travel to Kent, OH from February 1st through 4th. I will land in Salt Lake City, UT on February 9th through 12th. Next comes Jacksonville, FL from February 14th through 18th, and then Columbia, SC. I will stay in Columbia until March 3rd. It could be a meet up for coffee or taking part in your home group. Just let me know!
Giving lots of thanks for the one-time gifts that came in during December. In order to bring the account I am responsible for into good-standing for this upcoming year I am still needing $400 in monthly giving and one-time gifts totaling $10,000. To help answer this need, click here.
