This crew is amazing. Eight students from a bible school on the west coast of Sweden came and poured out love and truth in my neighborhood for a few days last week. Some of these had decided to follow Jesus just this past year and continue to grow despite opposition. Again, the consistency of having coffee table has yielded deeper trust in the community and longer conversations with many. Rather than just taking a cup of coffee, people are entering into dialogue about worldview and faith. I am excited that our local community will continue to have weekly coffee tables!Outside of the Friday night fellowship time, friendships are beginning to deepen with opportunities to meet throughout the week. Jennifer and Natasha were able to come over for dinner the other where we had time to share how life was going, shed some tears in the hard, discuss what repent and believe mean from the Bible, and rejoice in the good. We took time to share more of our stories to get to one another better. Thankful for discipleship moments to encourage one another and strengthen faith. Please pray for us. Gloria and Håkan, a married couple, are going through some health issues and strong hearts to used by Jesus in their neighborhood. Jonah and Natasha juggling school and wanting to be a more active disciple of Jesus. Jennifer is needing new work and continues to hunger for deeper understanding of God’s Word. Pray for Fredrick to finish well at his current job and transition to his new work at the start of November, also for how he grows as a shepherd in the town square to many men. For Agnes as a new boss transitions into her office. And pray for Sara as she can be an extension of God’s grace and kindness to the preschool she teaches at.There is so much stirring, I am asking for more consistent prayer. Would you set your alarm at 11:00 and say a simple prayer for the work here? For example on Monday: God, keep moving in Stockholm. Tuesday: Father, mature the ladies at the women’s bible study group so that they are starting their own, new discipleship groups. Wednesday: God, take these middle school students and start a youth ministry. Thursday: God, give favor at the weekly coffee table that many would hear the truth about who You are. Friday: God, bless the house church that they would know you more, make you known among the nations, and impact the refugee community,
This year, I have had the privilege of getting to host six teams. There is no question that the Lord has used each of these teams to help pour gas on the fire which we are currently seeing. Pray that we would be intentional and consistent in being out (even as it gets dark and cold), following up, and doing our part to see each believer mature in their own journey. I will start talking with churches and groups about teams for next spring. Pray for how it will all come together. And if you and your family want to come, check out the work and vacation in Stockholm, you can use me as a hotel. Let’s talk dates!
As the year ends, there is the need to evaluate the budget and see what is needed in finishing out this year green and for the coming year. I continue to be humbled by the generosity of so many to make this work possible. Join me in praying for the financial need. There is still a need of $130 in monthly giving and then to cover the additional costs of ministry activity, supplies, and mission trips, one-time gifts totaling $18,000. If you’d like to be an answer to that prayer, click here to get started. If you want to introduce to me anyone you think would be interested in getting involved, please share contact information.
May the Lord bless you and encourage your hearts today!
praying, Sarah, with joy in my heart for the ministry from your heart and life of the gospel of grace! I took the daily prayer pic and will undergird as this team functions for God’s glory from MS to adulthood. ❤️🙏❤️🙏 Donna
