Happy New Year Friends!

This year, we have continued to kick-off the year with our Iron-on-Iron Vision Retreat. Teams from Germany, Netherlands, and us from Sweden gather to worship, reflect, celebrate, and seek God in how He is leading us forward. It is always an encouraging to take time to actually acknowledge everything that has happened, the objectives met, the dreams that God fulfilled and the many surprises along the way and get to celebrate as a community. Our time together continues with peer coaching looking forward and supporting one another in goals ahead.

What’s happening & How to pray

Monday nights – We will continue to have a homework club with the handful of middle school girls in the neighborhood. We will start to practice English through a bible study. Pray for these steps to lead toward a middle school youth group for our area.

Friday fellowship – We continue to gather and worship together with a core group of 8 to 10 people. Pray for hearts to draw closer to God, for confidence in how God is already using them to be agents of love and kindness in their natural areas of influence. With the upcoming teams coming this spring, the big dream is that a second group would start.

Tuesday Coffee Table – The commitment to get out weekly to engage the neighbors continues to build momentum on both sides. Having the opportunity to serve together as a community of believers has deepened friendship and strengthen the vision to engage different people groups. Being consistent, people know when and where to find us for further conversation. Praying for new friends and follow up opportunities for deeper discussions.

Other areas of Sweden – Friends continue to invite me to be part of helping new initiatives start. Luleå, Örebro, and Malmö have open doors to join in different ways to see new groups start. Praying for opportunities to encourage the saints in these locations while coming alongside them as they reach out to their neighbors.

The PhD – The big prayer is to finish and graduate by December. That means finishing up the remaining interviews in the next few weeks and get the writing done.

Financial Update

Giving thanks and praise to the gifts totaling about $3,000 that have come in so far! Please join me in praying for the remaining $15,000 so that the account I am responsible for will be in good standing for 2025. If you would like to help meet this need, this link will get you started.

Personally….

Although I was unable to be with my family over Christmas and New Year, I was very thankful to be invited in to join friends and share in their traditions. A Swedish tradition (that started in the 1960s) is to watch a one-hour Disney program (that aired in America in 1958) at 3 pm on Christmas Eve. So interesting how traditions begin.

As to not become more of a workaholic, I decided to make a list of 25 activities to do in 25 to help motivate me to finish goals I have had, to dream a little of what could be, and make good use of my time to live well. If you would like to follow my journey in accomplishing this list, sign up for updates on www.sarahbedi.com

Happy New Year!!!!
