Stockholm Week 1

I feel very much that I am God’s daughter. photo (1)He has
cared for me so much this week! Thank you for praying for me, supporting me, encouraging me in this transition of life and ministry.

75,000 people to 2 million people. 15 minute bus rides to 40-60 minutes of combinations of subways and buses. a handful of people waiting for the bus to 2 dozen. Transitioning to the capital city of Sweden is big, but it has been smooth, gentle and happening with His peace. I am thankful.

How is the apartment? AMAZING. I live on the 8th floor with a large open common area of living room, dining area and kitchen as one. The walls are lined with windows and with the sun setting around 9 pm giving great natural light. My bedroom is a perfect size for me and thanks to IKEA my belongings fit and are organized!  My roommate, Angelique, loves Jesus and we have enjoyed getting to know each other. We ask lots of questions and are learning to not make assumptions but to ask questions so that we can grow in understanding of one another and our cultures.

What is the area like where you live? I love among mostly muslims. The area is 91% immigrants. I feel very safe. There are parks and lots of trees.  It takes me 12 minutes to walk to the supermarket and the closest gym, which I tested out the pool this week. It is 4 minute walk to the subway and 4 minutes in another direction for the bus. I am able to get everywhere with ease. I am hoping to purchase a bike as I will be able to cover even more ground 🙂   I am excited to live in the midst of where we would love see a new church planted.  There are currently plans for 3 mosques but no plans for new churches.

Has your vision changed? No, not really. It is just expanding! The BOTH/AND VISION continues.  I have been meeting with local church leaders to discuss opportunities to train and empower every believer to be a confident disciple maker so that we can see the healthy, biblical churches that are already established be vibrant and impact the Kingdom of God. We also know that to have a city-wide vision, we need other models of church. I will continue to labor in different areas of the city (starting in my own) to start new simple churches with the raising up of local leaders to carry it forward. We want and believe we will see a movement of God happen in Sweden!

Do you have time to relax and get settled into your new place? Well that might have to be defined!  In getting settled in, I am thrilled that God is bringing THREE TEAMS AND A SUMMER INTERN to labor with me in kick starting this new chapter of life and ministry. My intern, Alex, comes from Colorado and arrives next Thursday with the first team arriving on the 17th. We are diving in!  Why not?!?!?!

How is it going with your back taxes and support? The Lord continues to provide in amazing ways. I have a few thousand dollars left to raise to cover needed expenses. It has been amazing to see how the Lord continues to provide for all my needs! I am still currently at 75% of my support until I start my new job in August. Well there is the update! FULL OF PRAISE AND THANKFULNESS! How can I pray for you? I would love to hear an update on how things are on your end!  Blessings!
