A team from Kent, Ohio arrived a week ago ready to serve and walk with me to discover what God is doing in Stockholm. We have prayed walked many streets. We have had a picnic looking to build bridges with immigrants. After helping a bird feeder, we got to have tea with one of my neighbors from Algeria and his Russian bride. We have walked university campuses and engage many different types of people in many different ways. This past week has been an incredible launch into a new chapter of ministry and I am extremely thankful to have had such quality people to labor with. This team is asking God if He would open the door to provide jobs, studies, housing, etc to move here and continue to the work. Let’s pray for a way for more laborers to come to Stockholm!
Training to train! I had the privilege to do a training at a local bible school. Growing in confidence and competence of being a disciple and making disciples is key aspect of the work here. It is exciting to see different churches and ministries owning a common language and common tools so that we can continue to build toward a city-reaching vision together! I get to visit on Tuesday mornings to follow up. Pray that God would raise up this next generation to finish the Great Commission! Pray for these students who made a choice to attend this school since August through this June to be further grounded in their faith and equipped to serve God wherever He may lead.
As most of you know, part of my time is working with United World Mission (UWM) in building strategic partnerships in Scandinavia. We are very aware of the need for more workers to come to the field and are excited for the incredible national leaders and migrant leaders that God has raised up. As the number of refugees are seeking asylum is these northern European countries, we desire to labor together so that all diaspora people have the opportunity to experience the love of Christ through word and deed. I had the opportunity to meet with leaders of multi-ethnic churches in Amsterdam. The city is a paradox of incredible beauty, uniquely built celebrating freedom and pleasure while at the same time demonstrating a loneliness and emptiness. From there, a colleague and I travelled to Denmark where we were given an incredible tour starting in Copenhagen through the country to meet with multiple leaders building bridges with refugees and established churches. They are asking for 200 missionaries! May God raise up more workers to labor in the harvest!
As you can see, the Lord keeps my life very full! I am in awe in how these past 21 days of moving to Stockholm have gone smoothly and have helped me engaged in this new season full throttle! Thank you for your constant prayers and support!
